Solidarity against the repression in France # Sainte-Soline, retraites

Nowadays in France, a huge social movement is fighting on many fronts, beyond political parties and unions. The repression of the State is also huge. Social struggles are threatened.
On Saturday the 25th of March, in Sainte-Soline, in France, thousands of people were protesting against the construction of new water megabasins.
Those reservoirs are mainly filled with ground water to meet the needs of agro-industry. Once again, this capitalist project is an ecological nonsense, a misuse of public money, a privatisation of water resources.
As for the pension reform, the French government dictates a program that will benefit only the bourgeoisie despite a strong opposition. Police and legal repression is growing and becomes more and more violent. In Sainte-Soline, during Saturday's demonstration, more than 200 people were injured with at least 40 seriously injured, 10 hospitalizations, and 2 persons currently between life and death.

"Ανακοίνωση για τον Σ., σύντροφο σε κρίσιμη κατάσταση μετά τη διαδήλωση στο Σεν-Σολίν (Sainte-Soline) / Statement concerning S., comrade who is in a life-threatening condition following the Sainte-Soline protest (English bellow)

Το Σάββατο 25 Μαρτίου στο Σεν-Σολίν, ο σύντροφός μας Σ. τραυματίστηκε από μια χειροβομβίδα της αστυνομίας, κατά τη διάρκεια της διαδήλωσης ενάντια στις δεξαμενές νερού. Παρά την κατάσταση έκτακτης ανάγκης στην οποία βρέθηκε, οι αρχές εμπόδισαν συνειδητά τις πρώτες βοήθειες να παρέμβουν, σε πρώτο χρόνο, και να τον μεταφέρουν σε ειδικευμένη μονάδα, σε δεύτερο χρόνο. Αυτή τη στιγμή νοσηλεύεται στη νευροχειρουργική εντατική. Διατρέχει ακόμα σημαντικό κίνδυνο για τη ζωή του.

Η κλιμακούμενη βία που δέχτηκαν οι διαδηλωτές άφησε εκατοντάδες τραυματίες, με πολλές βαριές σωματικές βλάβες, όπως αναφέρεται στις διάφορες ανακοινώσεις που έχουν βγει. Οι 30.000 διαδηλωτές είχαν συγκεντρωθεί με στόχο να μπλοκάρουν την κατασκευή μιας μεγαδεξαμενής νερού στο Σαν-Σολίν, ένα έργο αρπαγής του νερού από μια μειοψηφία προς όφελος ενός καπιταλιστικού μοντέλου που δεν έχει πλέον τίποτα να υπερασπιστεί εκτός από τον θάνατο. Η βία της ένοπλης πτέρυγας του δημοκρατικού κράτους είναι η πιο ξεκάθαρη έκφραση αυτού του μοντέλου.

Στην αλληλουχία γεγονότων που ξεδιπλώθηκαν με το κίνημα ενάντια στη μεταρρύθμιση των συντάξεων, η αστυνομία ακρωτηριάζει και επιχειρεί να δολοφονήσει για να αποτρέψει την εξέγερση και να υπερασπιστεί την αστική τάξη και τον κόσμο της. Τίποτα δεν θα κάμψει την αποφασιστικότητά μας να βάλουμε τέλος στην κυριαρχία τους. Την Τρίτη 28 Μάρτη και τις επόμενες μέρες ενισχύουμε τις απεργίες και τα μπλόκα, βγαίνουμε στους δρόμους, για τον Σ. και όλους τους τραυματίες και φυλακισμένους των κινημάτων μας.

On Saturday the 25th of March at Sainte-Soline, our comrade S. was hit in the head by an explosive grenade during the protest against the giant retention basins. Despite his critical condition, the prefecture deliberately prevented the emergency services from intervening at first, and from transporting him to a special care unit in a second phase. He is currently in a neurosurgical intensive care. He is still in a critical condition.

The massive outbreak of violence that the protesters have gone through led to hundreds of wounded, and many of them suffered serious physical injuries, as we can read in the various reports available. The 30 000 protesters came with the aim to block the construction site of the Sainte-Soline giant retention basin, which is a water-appropriation project defended by a minority for the benefit of a capitalist model that has nothing more to defend other than death. The violence of the armed wing of the democratic State illustrates it vividly.

In the sequence initiated by the movement against the pension reform, the police mutilates and tries to assassinate to prevent the uprising, to defend the bourgeoisie and its world. Nothing will dampen our determination to put an end to their reign. On Tuesday March the 28th and on the following days, let's strengthen the strikes and the blockades, let's take the streets, for S. and all the wounded and the imprisoned of our movements.

Jail sentences for burned trash-bins, sprays, or for wearing protections against teargas and other police weapons - death and mutilation for protesting… We are far from the idea of the supposed human-right country. In France as in Greece, the bourgeoisie uses police violence to protect its interests. To face it, let's build solidarity between us and beyond their borders.
