🔴 Join us at the @secondflr_spc for our first guest programmed screening of Il Capitano (2023) with researcher, political activist, and author of the essay The Migrant Genocide Iker Suarez present to lend his analysis.
🔴 As a euro-multinational big production film on two Senegalese men's trek thru the Sahara and across the Mediterranean - escaping Imperialist de-development and fragmentation- this screening is intended to be a critical intervention, identifying its liberal components and sites of imperial evasion. We will also consider how this film has been framed within the mainstream press and the film industry's general commodification of the so-called "migrant crisis."
